Schools and Kids
The mission of School District U-46 is to provide
an education that nurtures and challenges all students to maximize
their individual potential to become responsible, productive and
contributing members of our community and society. District U-46
serves about 35,000 students, from kindergarten through high school
and is the second largest school district in the State of Illinois.
The district covers a 90 square mile geographic area.
Streamwood borders are such that some Streamwood
students attend school in Schaumburg School District Unit-54. However,
most students living in Streamwood are served by Elgin School District
U-46.
Within the Village of Streamwood are 10 elementary
schools, two middle schools and one high school.
